  Imagine my fear and confusion when I wake up one morning to find 3 uniformed police officers at my doorstep, asking about the girl staying with me.

And so, after having called her only once that morning while we were asleep (and thus not getting an answer) they filed a missing person's report. Yes, insane, I know.

This girl, confused and scared out of her wits, leaves with the police on their suggestion, and suffice it to say the rest of the day got extremely weird (in a terrible way) such that I found it necessary to contact a lawyer to help me make sense of a situation I found myself in.

Luckily, this story has a happy ending. Both myself and my guest suffered a lot of emotional trauma due to what was ultimately a series of misunderstandings that got cleared up over the day, but it easily could have been much worse.
